Chuak Chan,

Chuak joined Westpac Banking Corporation (Hong Kong branch) in July 2011 and will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Ascalon Capital Managers (Asia) Limited once that company is licensed. In this role, Chuak will work with Ascalon Capital Managers Limited to develop offshore distribution for Ascalon’s partner firms and to source and execute new partnerships with boutique investment management companies outside Australia.
Chuak has 23 years experience in the investment management industry. He began his career at a firm of chartered accountants in 1985 before moving to Bankers Trust in 1988, where he worked in numerous business roles in the funds management business.
He joined ING Investment Management Asia Pacific in 1998 and relocated to Hong Kong in 1999, serving in several senior regional roles in sales and marketing and as Chief Risk Officer for the Asia Pacific region.
In November 2007, he co-founded a hedge fund management company in Hong Kong and served as Chief Operating Officer until February 2011.
Chuak has a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia).
